Alexander Voigt, CEO of Younicos AG
Alexander Voigt, born in 1965, took his degree in physics and since
1986 has been an active player in the photovoltaics industry with his
own companies. In 1997, together with Birgit Flore and Rainer
Lemoine, he founded SOLON AG (the present SOLON SE), now one of
the leading European companies manufacturing solar modules and
photovoltaic power plants. Two years later, Alexander Voigt was one
of the driving forces behind the spin-off of SOLON’s production
technology business unit into the newly founded Q-Cells AG. From
2001 to 2006, he was Chairman of the Executive Board of SOLON AG,
moving to the Supervisory Board in 2006. In 2008 he and his
business partner Clemens Triebel together founded Younicos AG in
Berlin as a merger of the two companies SOLON Laboratories AG and
I-Sol Ventures GmbH. As CEO of Younicos AG, Alexander Voigt also
takes on special responsibility for the Sales and Marketing divisions.
Clemens Triebel, Member of the Board of Younicos AG
Clemens Triebel, born in 1958, studied theoretical mechanical
engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, obtaining his
degree in engineering with a thesis on renewable energy
technologies. Thereafter, his career as initiator, project manager,
shareholder and board member spanned various companies and
international research and development projects in the fields of
renewable energy sources and technology and network management.
In 1997, as co-founder, he joined the Supervisory Board of SOLON AG,
and established a planning team for the implementation of major
solar energy projects with photovoltaic systems integrated in buildings. As an advisory board member, director, project manager
and executive board member, he has worked in trade associations,
research councils and foundations and boards of trustees, exerting a
decisive influence on the political and economic developments
surrounding alternative energy sources. In 2008, together with
Alexander Voigt, he founded Younicos AG in Berlin. As a member of
the executive board of YOUNICOS AG, Clemens Triebel is
predominantly responsible for research into and development of
storage technologies and energy conversion systems for the
establishment of autonomous or grid-connected electrical supply
systems.
